The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Post Doctoral Research Scholar to work 50% in the Human Brain Research Laboratory (HBRL). This position will provide scientific and technical leadership in the management, design, and conduct of basic pre-clinical/clinical research. The postdoc will also participate in didactics, research, and teaching when available.
Duties to include:
Designing and executing experiments
Maintaining clinical databases
Collecting and analyzing data
Assisting with writing and revising manuscripts, grant proposals, abstract submission, and publications
Coordinating and managing pre-clinical or clinical trials
Please note: This position is for a limited duration not to exceed five (5) years unless there are unusual circumstances.

Required Qualifications
MD or PhD in related discipline.
Minimum three (3) years’ research experience at the graduate level. Research experience in neuroscience preferred.
Experience using MATLAB.
Excellent laboratory and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification. Up to 5 professional references will be requested at a later step in the recruitment process.
