JOB TITLE : IT Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Technician

REPORTS TO : IT MES Engineer
STATUS : Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY :
Primary role of supporting the core production floor IT MES Engineer regarding planning, maintenance and daily user support. Work Closely with the IT, Automation, Maintenance and Production teams to troubleshoot and execute operational changes that require adjustments to the IT MES system.
DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Monitor and respond appropriately to incidents, outages, and alerts and coordinate vendor support when necessary.
Coordinate MES system changes, equipment additions or replacement, in accordance with IT Policies and Procedures.
Develop and maintain technical process and procedure documentation for both user and technical needs, including contingency operations.
Monitor the IT MES systems daily for errors and issues. Troubleshoot issues, coordinate and communicate changes with IT MES Engineer and other department leaders.
Work with business leaders and process owners to establish and enhance processes within core systems and applications throughout the company.
Liaison/support between local LPP IT team and system vendors.
Research, recommend and document organizational requirements for vendor installations and configurations.
Utilize ad hoc report writing tools within software applications to meet the needs of users.
Provide accurate and timely standard production reporting to management to ensure metrics are achieved.
Assist users with support questions and troubleshooting.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Attend required training and meetings as needed.
All other duties not listed but requested by Senior Leadership.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
MUST possess excellent customer service skills both in person and in writing, and a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
MUST have strong organizational and project management skills.
MUST have knowledge of engineering standards, network communication protocols, and IT operating systems.
Skill in using a personal computer and a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to provide clear direction and supervise staff.
Ability to be a positive representative of the company values.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in an Information Technology related field, and/or experience in an information technology related role.
Previous manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of production planning, poultry production operations and standard operating procedures preferred.
