Education, Licenses and/or Experience (Requirements)
B.S. degree in Construction Management or Engineering
7+ years of Heavy Industrial experience
MSHA and OSHA certification
Key Responsibilities
Will execute projects within schedule, quality, and financial objectives. Implements proper controls and monitoring onsite quality performance of Construction Supervisors and subcontractors. Profit and loss responsibility
Extensive travel and short- and long-term temporary residency at construction sites as work dictates
Knowledge of bulk material handling and storage systems; crushing, screening and grinding systems; pyro-processing systems; and mining and minerals processing equipment
Familiarity of construction techniques for deep foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel erection, mechanical equipment installation and electrical construction and the ability to perform constructability reviews
First aid training

Works with engineering, equipment suppliers and subcontractors to develop a competitive proposal strategy, scope definition, cost estimating and budgeting, site visit and inspection for EPCM, EPC and CM projects. Proficient with software for project reporting, cost estimating and scheduling
Upon award, ensures project objectives, documentation and budgets are transferred to stakeholder; leads the preparation of purchase orders to vendors and suppliers for awarded Equipment & Material Supply Packages and contractors/subcontractors for Construction Bid Packages; reviews thoroughly and approves payments in a timely manner
Works with the Client's Safety Director monitoring and reporting on safety compliance.
Coordinates information between design team, contractors, suppliers, and client. Acts as liaison between contractor, supplier, designers, engineers, to identify and efficiently resolve problems
Prepares weekly and monthly reports for management describing progress and problems occurring during the completion of the project. Maintains daily reports. Keeps management informed. Monitors and controls cost elements of budget
Maintains all current project records (environmental and construction permits, reports, material testing, inspections, regulatory agency inspections and certifications, design drawings and data, PO's, contracts/subcontracts, shop drawings, RFI's, Change Orders, Schedules, O&M manuals, punch lists, as-built drawings, etc.) at the site
Acts as point of contact for all Regulatory Agencies - local, state and federal for on-site project construction, environmental and safety inspections
Responsible for start-up and commissioning. Coordinates all equipment and system performance acceptance testing required by contract for guarantees. Responsible for complete turn-over of project information (as-built drawings, shop drawings, inspection reports, performance guarantee documentation, equipment O&M manuals, etc.) to the Owner at conclusion of project
