Responsibilities:
Maintain the GIS model on the electric side (not for gas work).
Perform analysis and create custom maps.
Process work orders into GIS and print distribution of any updates made.
Handle some tabular data and analysis.
Spend 5-10% of time out in the field.
Maintain the GIS connected model with information from various sources.
Perform analysis or queries to prepare reports, tabulations, charts, and maps.
Produce standard prints and ad-hoc plots for field requests.
Maintain service point data and its relationship to feeding source transformer.
Track the lifespan of utility asset data, including history and inspections.
Resolve conflicting data, mapping, connectivity, and land issues.
Perform GIS work for major projects such as facility relocations and new business.
Operate automated office equipment, including printers and plotters.
File records and data related to the work.
Perform manual or computer-aided drafting.
Operate a car or light truck.
Assist other employees in plant work, in the field, or in the office.
Perform other similar skilled work.
Requirements:

1-2 years of GIS experience (school or work-related).
Ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of the company's business applications.
Familiarity with material, equipment, and apparatus used in the work.
Understanding of the Utilities' Transmission and Distribution systems.
Knowledge of various operating and maintenance handbooks and manuals.
Ability to work at various company locations based on business needs.
Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license to operate motor vehicles in New Jersey.
Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows applications.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD is a strong plus.
Experience using GIS apps and understanding of GIS relationships.
Open to recent college graduates with GIS experience from school or internships.
