Job Purpose / Summary
The Residential Team Leader works as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 24‑hour adult residential substance use treatment facility, providing both administrative support and direct client care.

The program operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
Staff are required to participate in on‑call rotations, including weekends and after‑hours.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
1. Assess and evaluate each client on their caseload.
Complete admission paperwork in TN‑WITS and Centricity within required time frames.
2. Complete all documentation in compliance with CARF and funding standards.
Enter daily progress notes in Centricity and ASAMS according to licensure and funding standards.
Complete computerized ASI assessments in the TN‑WITS and Accucare system as assigned.
Finish discharge paperwork and close charts within 48 hours of client discharge.
Participate in monthly peer review to ensure CARF compliance.
3. Provide quality clinical care for the duration of clients’ stay.
Meet weekly with each client for counseling sessions and document them in Centricity.
Develop aftercare plans to prevent relapse in substance use and co‑occurring mental issues.
Enforce program rules, document consequences, and maintain daily shift logs.
Facilitate group activities and educational groups as assigned.
4. Direct client supervision with daily milieu routine.
Assist staff in monitoring psychosocial and behavioral symptoms daily, documented in progress notes.
5. Maintain a safe and secure environment.
Ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment with minimal complaints.
Complete personal property checks at admission and discharge.
Perform routine checks on all clients in 15‑minute rotations.
Document compassionate support in progress notes.
6. Communicate relevant client information.
Participate in daily shift reports.
Inform on‑call staff of safety and security concerns.
Collaborate with law enforcement, courts, and referral agencies.
Present milieu and unit concerns in monthly staff meetings.
Submit incident or sentinel event forms within 24 hours to the Program Coordinator.
7. Promote positive teamwork and work environment.
Report concerns to the Program Coordinator and create counseling schedules.
Ensure staff complete job assignments daily.
Perform daily monitoring workflows.
Attend daily meetings with the Program Coordinator to ensure program goals are met.
Provide weekly supervision to residential counselors.
Oversee TN‑WITS entries for accurate documentation.
Complete staff performance evaluations and the Monthly Quality Assurance Report.
Rotate on‑call with the Program Coordinator and facilitate varying daily groups.
Assist with housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation as needed.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
8. Develop professional growth plan.
Attend workshops, seminars, or courses as requested or assigned.
Complete all training modules in Relias as scheduled.
9. Perform additional duties as directed.
Follow through on daily task assignments.
Maintain cleanliness and order of workspace.
Hold a Class “F” Driver’s license.
Be punctual for each scheduled shift.
10. Adhere to dress code.
Follow dress code daily and represent the Center professionally.
Practice exceptional customer service with clients, families, and stakeholders.
Compensation
Starting salary: approximately $19.85 per hour, based on experience and education.
Schedule
40 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
On‑call rotation includes weekend and after‑hours work.
Travel
Not required for daily client transportation; may be required for emergencies.
Maintain a dependable vehicle and certified driver status.
Transportation may be provided in personal vehicle or company van; mileage reimbursement applies.

Equipment / Technical Competency
Basic computer and electronic skills required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Use of electronic medical records for timekeeping and scheduling.
Qualifications
Experience / Knowledge
One year in social work, addictions, behavioral health, or criminal justice setting.
Trauma‑informed practices with individuals who experienced physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.
Experience with addiction, motivational interviewing, and re‑entry programming preferred.
Education / License
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, CPRS, or related health field.
At least one year of experience with mental illness or co‑occurring dual diagnoses.
Coursework or experience in cultural diversity, human development, etiology, trauma‑informed care, suicide, crisis intervention, and alcohol/drug abuse.
Prefer at least one year of management experience.
Physical/Emotional/Social Skills and Abilities
Work in a normal residential treatment setting.
Close eye work for writing and computer use.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 150 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and client activity participation.
Certified in verbal and physical de‑escalation techniques.
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
