Agency Leader

The James Allen Companies Inc, Webster, TX, United States

Company Overview

We are a established wealth management firm serving over 350 high-net-worth clients with personalized, white-glove financial advisory services. To expand our offerings, we are launching a new property and casualty (P&C) insurance agency aimed at providing seamless, premium insurance solutions to our existing clientele. This role will lead the build-out and operations of the agency from the ground up, ensuring alignment with our commitment to exceptional client service while driving independent growth.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced insurance professional to serve as the General Manager of our newly formed P&C insurance agency. Reporting directly to firm leadership, you will be responsible for building the agency from scratch, including team assembly, operational setup, and strategic planning. Your initial focus will be on delivering tailored P&C insurance solutions (e.g., home, auto, umbrella, and specialty coverages) to our 350 wealth management clients with the same high-touch, concierge-level service they expect. Once the core client base is secured, you will lead efforts to expand the agency through organic sales and business development. This is a high-impact leadership role for a self-starter with a proven track record in insurance agency management and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Agency Build-Out and Launch : Design and implement the foundational structure of the agency, including licensing, carrier partnerships, compliance setup, technology integration (e.g., CRM, policy management systems), and office operations. Ensure all regulatory requirements for P&C insurance in relevant jurisdictions are met from day one.

Client Servicing for Wealth Management Portfolio : Develop and execute a strategy to onboard and service our 350 existing wealth clients with customized P&C insurance solutions. Provide white-glove service, including personalized risk assessments, policy recommendations, claims support, and ongoing reviews to integrate seamlessly with their wealth management plans.

Team Leadership and Development : Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing team of insurance agents, underwriters, support staff, and specialists. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and client-centric service.

Growth and Business Development : Once the initial client base is stabilized, drive agency expansion through targeted sales initiatives, marketing campaigns, lead generation, and networking. Identify opportunities to cross-sell, upsell, and acquire new clients outside our wealth management ecosystem to achieve revenue targets.

Performance Management : Establish KPIs for client satisfaction, retention, policy issuance, premium growth, and profitability. Monitor performance, analyze data, and adjust strategies to optimize operations and ensure long-term sustainability.

Compliance and Risk Management : Oversee all legal, regulatory, and ethical aspects of the agency, including adherence to state insurance laws, carrier agreements, and data privacy standards.

Strategic Collaboration : Partner with wealth management advisors to align insurance offerings with client financial goals. Provide insights on market trends, emerging risks, and innovative P&C products.

Budgeting and Financial Oversight : Manage the agency’s budget, including startup costs, ongoing expenses, and revenue forecasting. Work towards profitability while maintaining service quality.

Qualifications

Experience : Minimum of 10+ years in the property and casualty insurance industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., agency manager, director, or principal). Proven experience building or scaling an insurance agency from inception, including carrier relationships and team development.

Licensing : Active Property & Casualty Insurance License in the state(s) of operation (or ability to obtain within 30 days). Additional certifications such as CPCU, CIC, or ARM are highly preferred.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Track Record : Demonstrated success in servicing high-net-worth clients with premium, customized insurance solutions. Experience in integrating insurance with wealth management or financial services is ideal.
