SSI is seeking a
Senior Space Systems Engineer
for a role in Chantilly, VA.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provides technical oversight and leadership for development, testing, integration, and operations effort associated with the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
Provide systems engineering guidance in the development of test and evaluation plans, system verification plans, and other systems engineering processes and documents.
Provide inputs and support on technical and/or programmatic status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios.
Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations, and tasks for reducing risk where appropriate as well as support risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans.
Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program assessments based on the identified risks.
Advise the Government program manager on technical engagements such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, and other informational meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)
Minimum of 10 years’ experience with satellite and ground systems
Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction
Strong experience in requirements development and tracking
Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
TS/SCI Required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in STEM or related discipline
