
Engineer I/II Water/ Wastewater

Position Overview
SGM is seeking a full‑time Water/Wastewater Engineer II. This position requires a degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering and preferably two or more years of experience in water and/or wastewater design and consulting work. The ideal candidate will help forward SGM's mission to make its clients successful by delivering practical, innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary is determined based on experience. U.S. Dollars per year: $76,200 - $84,500 for Engineer I (0‑2 years) and $80,300 - $94,000 for Engineer II (2‑5 years). Must align with your experience.

Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
EI Certification or ability to obtain in the first year of employment
0 – 5 years of related experience
Organized, fast learner, and interested in the details
Familiarity and working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software
Strong written and oral communication skills
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
Current Colorado PE license in civil engineering or related field
Willingness to represent SGM positively in the industry and local community
Desire to provide industry‑leading engineering services and become an integral part of the overall SGM team
Construction project administration and oversight experience
WTF/WWTF Operators License
Master's degree in civil engineering or related field
Municipal engineering experience
An active member of relevant professional organizations
Demonstrated initiative and participation in community involvement and outreach
Software experience/proficiency: AutoCAD (esp. Civil 3D and Autodesk Plant 3D), water distribution network hydraulic modeling (Innovyze, Bentley), biological process modeling software (Biowin), water/wastewater facilities‑related permitting
