Join our compassionate and collaborative Radiation Oncology care team at the Brigitte Harris Cancer Pavilion, where we are committed to excellence in patient care, continuous learning, and a supportive team environment. In this role, you will provide comprehensive outpatient nursing care, including rooming patients, delivering patient and family education, coordinating care, performing IV access, administering medications, assisting with minor procedures (including those requiring sedation), triaging patient needs, and managing Epic in-basket messages.
As a Lead RN, you will also serve as a key resource for the team, helping to maintain efficient clinic flow and supporting day-to-day operations.
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Eight- to ten-hour shifts. Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
General Summary
Provides leadership to a group of four or more staff (i.e., RNs, MAs, CSRs, etc.). Performs leadership functions about 30% of the time and duties of a Registered Nurse Critical Procedure the remaining 70%. Performs duties of a Registered Nurse Critical Procedure in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and families. Effectively communicates with the healthcare team. Demonstrates clinical competence. Supervises other nursing and support staff as appropriate.
Education and Experience Required
Graduate from a school of nursing and current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Successful completion of HFMG Pharmacology test.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard of care, i.e., Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). Current BLS/ACLS certificate.
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans and perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Two to three years of nursing experience in a clinical environment.
Leadership experience preferred.
Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
