# Carpenter - Missoula## Job DescriptionThe Carpenter will build, erect, install and repair forms, structures and other fixtures made from wood, metal and other materials as needed to assist with the various types of constructions projects. These tasks will be performed on residential and commercial construction projects. The Carpenter works directly for the Foreman or Superintendent. Travel out of town during the work week may be required depending on work site location.## Qualifications and Skills1. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation2. Ability to communicate and follow instructions in English3. Ability to read, write and do basic math4. Must provide own basic tools5. Good physical condition and endurance6. Previous construction experience is required7. Knowledge of framing with wood or metal is required8. Ability to read and understand blueprints or building plans9. Completion of a two-year carpentry program through a trade school and/or accredited carpenter’s apprenticeship program is desired10. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical## Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities1. Shows up to work on time for the required shift at the assigned job site2. Receives and follows all instructions from Lead Carpenters, Foremen and Superintendents3. Keeps all tools clean and in working condition4. Helps maintain a clean job site by conducting housekeeping (cleaning trash, removing debris, sweeping, etc.)5. Conducts demolition of structures6. Loads, unloads and moves building materials7. Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects8. Installs windows, doors and weather protection materials9. Assembles and installs fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closers## Additional Duties and Responsibilities1. Mentors and trains Laborers and Carpenter Assistants2. Once certified, may use a telehandler forklift or skidsteer to complete tasks3. Use a company vehicle to pick up or deliver materials4. Any other tasks provided by Foremen, Safety Personnel or Superintendents## Working Conditions and Physical DemandsThis position is extremely strenuous. Applicants must be able to lift and carry heavy objects. Applicants must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Activities will include climbing ladders or scaffolding, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling and standing for long periods of time. Applicants must have excellent manual dexterity of the fingers, hands and arms. Applicants must also have full mobility of the neck, back, arms and legs. Applicants must be able to see clearly and recognize small details.## Location:Missoula, MT
