Summary
Reporting to the Mine Maintenance General Supervisor, the Mine Maintenance Supervisor supervises and coordinates the Mine Maintenance team to ensure scheduled maintenance, mechanical availability, and reliability of shovels and drills meet budgeted targets. The position is a 7x7, 12‑hour schedule, days and nights shift rotation, and is not a fly‑in‑fly‑out position. Responsibilities include identifying and correcting potential work and safety issues.

Location
Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia, at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. It is within close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Responsibilities

Ensure site compliance with mining regulations and Mine site safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Follow Occupational Health and Safety, Mines Act, and Copper Mountain Mine SOPs.

Oversee work of mechanics, welders, electricians, apprentices, and laborers.

Develop maintenance personnel and create a learning environment for apprentices and employees.

Identify, investigate, correct, and document potential environmental and safety problems.

Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate activities with other departments.

Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.

Train staff in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.

Complete performance evaluations for direct reports and provide regular feedback.

Perform any other responsibilities related to the role as required.

Education & Experience

Minimum of 5 to 10 years of varied maintenance experience in mining, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

High proficiency with computer applications.

Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s license and access to personal transportation.

Required Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Competent in filling out forms including transmittals, warehouse vouchers, timecards, expense forms, and investigation forms.

Proven leadership and team-building capabilities with ability to recognize and overcome challenges.

Promotes a positive work environment and addresses issues promptly.

Works well in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and possesses a strong work ethic.

Builds and maintains lasting relationships with key business partners and internal customers.

Can plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

Strong negotiation and prioritization skills.

Can attend and conduct presentations.

Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.

Working Conditions

Team environment with scheduled and ad‑hoc meetings.

Manual dexterity to use desktop computers and peripheral devices.

Occasional exposure to hazardous environments requiring PPE.

Regular exposure to noise, dust, and adverse weather conditions.

Rate of Pay
$122K - $136K / annum.
