
Industrial Project Estimator

What You'll Do:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, machining, fabrication, and outsourced services
Review RFQs, customer specifications, drawings, and scope of work
Perform on-site job and scope walks to identify customer and job requirements
Develop quotes and proposals aligned with company pricing strategies and margin targets
Ensure estimates are accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
Assess manufacturability, repair scope, and production requirements
Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to validate estimates
Coordinate with shop personnel (machining, fabrication, mechanical) to confirm labor hours and processes
Communicate with Sales and customers to clarify scope and requirements
Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Ensure material and service costs are competitive and aligned with project requirements
Analyze historical data, labor standards, and material costs to improve estimate accuracy
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with company and industry safety regulations.
What You'll Need:
Pump and Motor Shop experience is a plus High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or engineering background preferred
1-3+ years of experience in estimating, manufacturing, fabrication, or mechanical repair
Experience in an industrial environment (machining, welding, rotating equipment, or similar)
Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, and/or mechanical repair processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Knowledge of labor costing, material pricing, and production processes
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems
Industrial shop setting with exposure to noise, heat, and heavy equipment
May require extended hours or weekend work to meet production demands
