Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Windows Engineer
to join our fully remote team on a contract basis. This role is support-focused and intended to lighten the current engineering workload during a staffing gap. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Windows environments and a solid background in Microsoft O365, Active Directory, and Azure. This contractor will assist with ongoing projects and provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Tier 2/3 support for all Microsoft Windows-related systems and environments
Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft O365, Azure AD, and on-prem Active Directory environments
Support and maintain core infrastructure systems including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services
Assist in the implementation and support of Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions
Participate in ongoing infrastructure projects and initiatives
Handle user access, system configuration, patching, and updates
Collaborate with other engineers and IT staff to resolve technical issues
Participate in an on-call rotation (every 2 weeks)
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience as a Windows Systems Engineer or similar role
Strong knowledge of Microsoft O365, Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD), and related technologies
Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) integration and management
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Clear and professional communication skills - both written and verbal
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience with scripting (PowerShell)
Exposure to patch management tools and processes
Familiarity with ITIL processes or service ticketing systems
Team Environment:
Fully remote team of 5 FTEs (3 engineers + 1 patching specialist + 1 open position
This role will backfill the recently vacated 5th team member
