Job Summary
This position provides accounting support, identifies issues and provides guidance to University Departments to ensure that the accounting system reflects data supportive of current accounting procedures and requirements.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$4,085 - $5,312/month
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a major in accountancy (or equivalent coursework).
A total of four (4) years (48 months) of progressively responsible experience in professional level accounting work consistent with the next lower level of this series.
Advanced degree in accountancy or certification as a Certified Public Accountant may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Intermediate computer experience and knowledge of spreadsheets and databases, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Good understanding of financial and fund accounting and ability to utilize that knowledge in a computerized environment.
Ability to interpolate information, run reports, interpret data, and combine data into invoices and various other report formats.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize assignments and work with multiple tasks.
Ability to learn rules, regulations, and procedures of the University, Board of Trustees and State of Illinois.
Work Hours
Core work hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Functional Expectations
Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
Distinguish colors on a monitor.
