What You’ll Be Doing
This apprenticeship is your opportunity to enter the commercial HVAC-R industry with structured training, real-world experience, and expert guidance. You will learn the trade from experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful work in the field.

Support HVAC-R Technicians with commercial service, maintenance, and installation activities

Assist with the installation of HVAC-R units, systems, and components

Learn to diagnose equipment issues and perform basic repairs under direct supervision

Participate in preventative maintenance, routine service, and system calibration

Complete hands‑on field training with ongoing skill assessments

Accurately document work performed using company‑provided devices and software

Follow all safety policies and procedures while promoting a strong safety‑first culture

Work collaboratively with your team to meet and exceed customer expectations

Apprenticeship Program Highlights:

Paid training time allotted during the workday to complete academic assignments and online coursework

Company‑issued apprentice toolkit provided at the start of the program; ownership transfers to the apprentice upon successful program completion

Toolkit includes a digital multimeter, cordless impact driver/drill, gauge manifold, assorted hand tools, safety equipment, and backpack‑style tool bag

Hands‑on field training with regular practical skill assessments

Training and testing provided for EPA 608 and OSHA 10 certifications

Mentorship and career development guidance, including support for future advancement and continuing education

Apprentices may be eligible for wage increases at designated program milestones based on successful completion of training phases, demonstrated performance, safety compliance, and business needs

Min Compensation
USD $18.00/Hr.

Max Compensation
USD $20.00/Hr.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking motivated individuals who are dependable, eager to learn, and ready to build a long‑term career with Nextech.

High school diploma or GED required

HVAC trade school coursework or graduation preferred

Prior experience in a mechanical support role or service environment preferred

Some hands‑on HVAC or related technical experience is a plus, but not required

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability

Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn

Dependable, reliable, and able to take direction

Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to operate a smartphone, tablet, and basic software applications

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Willingness to travel to assigned client sites

Ability to work overtime as needed, provided it does not interfere with academic performance

Physical Requirements
This is a physically active role. You should be able to:

Must be able to safely work at heights using ladders up to 28–32 feet and operate equipment within manufacturer weight limits

Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment, including extension ladders, up to 100 lbs

Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach into confined spaces, and perform twisting, pushing, and pulling tasks

Must maintain physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks and extended activity

Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders throughout the day

Must use vision, hearing, and verbal communication continuously

Must operate work‑related equipment such as iPads, cell phones, and computers

Must be able to travel to customer sites as needed

Required to occasionally work in an office environment

Required to follow all applicable safety procedures
