Job Summary

The Occupational Health Athletic Trainer will be involved with the overall evaluation of an industrial client's employees. In this evaluation, the individual will evaluate the physical condition, advise and treat these employees at any of the on-site injury intervention programs.

What you will do

Prescribe routine and corrective stretches for reducing and preventing injuries.
Render first aid to injured employees such as administering artificial respiration, cleaning and bandaging wounds, applying heat and cold to promote healing and advising on safer mechanism of job performance.
Conduct job analysis studies.
Develop and implement pre-shift warm up/stretching programs.
Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for rehabilitation of the industrial athlete.
Train and coach proper body mechanics.
Perform workstation ergonomic assessments.
Design structured return to work programs.
Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with clients, co-workers, and managers.
Present seminars and workshops on athletic training related topics.
Participate in marketing programs to promote hospital service lines associated to athletic training topics.
Maintain current State and NATABOC certification.
Participate in daily clinic operations such as facilitating pre-participation testing, agility testing, drug and alcohol testing, respirator and spirometry testing, and other testing as applies to clinic operations.
Participate in required trainings to facilitate Occupational Health testing, and maintain any certifications needed to facilitate such tests.
Maintain highest standards of service through continuing education at professional seminars or workshops improving personal skills and knowledge, and to fulfill the requirements for continuing education as mandated by the NATABOC.
Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Graduate of a minimum of four-year Athletic Training curriculum. Required
Experience Qualifications

Minimum of one-year relevant experience Worker's Compensation Preferred or
Minimum of one-year relevant experience Industrial Experience Preferred
Licenses and Certifications

Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) Required and
Current National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Certification Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required
