JOB SUMMARY

The Front Desk Representative serves as a friendly and professional greeter in the office, preparing the patient and their record to see the doctor. This individual will be responsible for the check in and check out process for patients, obtaining credit card agreements, scheduling follow up appointments, diagnostic testing, and specialty injection appointments. This individual will also be responsible for batching daily collections and reconciling missing tickets

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring office/zone is prepared to receive patients by turning on lights, unlocking front doors, and ensuring appropriate sign in sheets are placed in clipboards on the front desk counter.
Greeting patients upon arrival by smiling, introducing yourself to and welcoming all patients to our practice
Always provides outstanding customer service
Informs patients of any delays in clinic or wait times
Providing patient with the intake tablet and instructions on how to use the tablet.
Assists patients having difficulty using the tablet.
Ensuring the patients have completed all the required intake information.
Obtain and ensure the patient's photo identification and insurance card(s) match the information in the patient's Athena account. Scan any new insurance cards and email Billing department with any changes
Verify a valid authorization is present in the patients account in Athena
Ensure the patients insurance benefits have been verified
Collect all co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding patient balances
Prepare all paperwork for the next day’s clinic
Schedule patients for follow up, diagnostic, and injection appointments
Complete end of day batches
Process any required disability form payments
Ensure clinic runs smoothly by informing Front Desk Lead or Manager of any problems
Contacts transportation on behalf of the patients as needed
Assist as backup for other area of front desk, including but not limited to assisting with work authorization, insurance verifications, etc.
All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required preferred
2 years minimum Medical Office experience
PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Working knowledge of a large medical office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize assigned workloads
Knowledge of EMR and PM systems
