Job Description
The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for a part‑time Adjunct Teaching Professor position in the Marketing Department, beginning Fall 2026. The primary responsibility is teaching undergraduate courses in Supply Chain Management. The position is on‑campus and requires in‑person instruction, weekly office hours to support and mentor students, and active contribution to Whitman’s experiential, career‑ready education. The number of courses offered depends on departmental needs and may include future semester courses.
Responsibilities
Preparation of lectures, projects, and other student assignments in collaboration with the marketing department and other instructors.
Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance level of the course.
Meeting all designated class periods in person.
Submitting completed mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to university regulations and school/college‑level policies.
Providing departmentally sanctioned form for completing student evaluations.
Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty members.
Other responsibilities as indicated.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Excellent knowledge of operations and supply chain management.
Proficiency with simple data analytics tools (e.g., Excel) and data‑driven decision making.
Job Specific Qualifications
Industry experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related fields.
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness or potential for teaching excellence at the university level.
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage student populations from many different walks of life.
Commitment to excellent pedagogy and student success.
Pay Range
$5,500 per section (salary for 8.5 months unless otherwise specified).
