Location Description
Post Consumer Brands in Battle Creek, Mich., the cereal capital of the U.S., is the company's largest manufacturing plant and home to about 600 team members. When you join the team here, you'll be helping to produce some of the most iconic cereal brands, including Honey Bunches of Oats, PEBBLES, Grape‑Nuts and Honeycomb cereal. The Battle Creek plant is also unique as it is home to the original barn where C.W. Post started the Postum cereal company in 1895. The Battle Creek team has deep community roots, supporting the city's Cereal Festival, The Post Foundation, and participating in several volunteer events throughout the year.

Responsibilities
As

Senior Manager of Operations , you’ll lead a large, complex, 24/7 manufacturing operation at Post Consumer Brands’ flagship Battle Creek facility, home to some of the most iconic cereal brands in the country. In this role, you are effectively the plant leader for your area, owning safety, quality, performance, engagement, and results across multiple product lines including Grape‑Nuts, granola, bran, rice, and milling operations.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you’ll shape strategy, develop frontline and salaried leaders, partner closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, CI, and HR, and work directly with union leadership to ensure strong operational outcomes.

Lead all aspects of operations for a 24/7 manufacturing area with 120+ employees, including 9 supervisors and an Operations Management Coordinator

Own safety, food safety, quality, service, cost, morale, and compliance outcomes

Act as the strategic and functional plant leader for your operation

Develop and execute operational plans aligned with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles

Partner cross‑functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, CI, and Supply Chain

Lead front‑line union engagement, communication, scheduling alignment, and grievance resolution

Develop budgets, labor plans, staffing strategies, and capital plans

Coach and develop supervisors and managers through strong floor presence and mentorship

Drive engagement, accountability, and operational excellence

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required

Significant leadership experience in manufacturing or food production

Proven experience leading large, hourly teams in a unionized environment

Strong operational and financial acumen

Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and drive results through others

Flexible leadership style that balances collaboration with decisive action
