About the Opportunity
This role exists to lead and coordinate a group of related projects and/or products that collectively support strategic business objectives through delivery. A Program Manager ensures alignment across initiatives by managing interdependencies, risks, and resources in a way that supports iterative progress and continuous value delivery. They serve as a central point of communication between teams, stakeholders, and leadership driving transparency, accountability, and collaboration through regular ceremonies, reviews, and feedback loops. By monitoring performance using metrics and adapting plans based on evolving priorities, the Program Manager ensures the program remains within scope and budget while delivering measurable business outcomes.

What will you be doing?
1. Oversight & Coordination of Projects/Products

Managing Multiple Initiatives:

Oversees and coordinates the efforts of multiple project and product teams, ensuring each initiative progresses. The Program Manager ensures that each team’s goals contribute to the broader program vision and strategic outcomes.

Interdependency Management:

Identifies and manages cross-team dependencies, ensuring that deliverables from one initiative are available to support others. Uses planning tools and ceremonies to align timelines and mitigate risks across teams.

2. Stakeholder Management & Communication

Engaging Stakeholders:

Identifies key stakeholders including executives, functional managers, teams, customers, and vendors and develops a communication strategy that supports ongoing engagement.

Facilitating Communication:

Establishes effective communication channels across all initiatives and teams within the program, to promote transparency, alignment, and shared understanding of goals and progress.

Managing Expectations:

Sets and maintains realistic expectations with stakeholders regarding program scope, timelines, and deliverables. Uses iterative planning and continuous feedback to adjust priorities and ensure stakeholder needs are addressed throughout the program lifecycle.

Identifying Program-Level Risks:

Proactively identifies and assesses risks that could impact the overall program.

Developing Mitigation Strategies:

Creates and implements mitigation strategies, including contingency planning and iterative adjustments. Encourages team ownership of risk response through collaborative planning and transparent communication.

Resolving Cross-Initiative Issues:

Acts as a facilitator to resolve conflicts and blockers across teams and initiatives. Uses cross-functional collaboration to ensure issues are addressed quickly and do not compromise program success.

4. Continuous Improvement & Performance Monitoring

Defining Success Metrics:

Establishes clear, success metrics to measure program performance and its contribution to organizational goals.

Monitoring Benefits Realization:

Tracks whether the intended business benefits of the program are being realized post-implementation through iterative reviews and stakeholder feedback.

Process Improvement:

Continuously evaluates program management practices using principles of inspect and adapt. Facilitates regular feedback loops to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and enhance consistency across teams and initiatives.

Monitoring and Reporting Program Progress:

Tracks overall program performance using metrics and milestone tracking. Prepares and delivers regular, data-driven reports to stakeholders and senior leadership, providing a holistic view of program health and progress.

5. Strategic Alignment & Planning

Defining Program Vision and Goals:

Collaborates with senior leadership to translate overarching business objectives into a clear, aligned vision. Establishes measurable goals that guide iterative delivery and ensure all initiatives within the program contribute to strategic outcomes.

Program Roadmapping:

Develops a high-level roadmap that sequences related projects and products, identifies key milestones, and maps interdependencies. The roadmap supports incremental planning and delivery.

Establishing Program Governance:

Defines governance structures, including decision-making frameworks, reporting cadences, and process standards. Ensures consistency and efficiency across initiatives while allowing flexibility for teams to adapt and respond to change.

Resource Allocation and Optimization:

Collaborates with project/product managers and functional leads to allocate and optimize resources across initiatives. Applies capacity planning and prioritization techniques to maximize team efficiency and ensure alignment with program objectives where applicable.

What education or experience is required
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and seven (7+) years of professional experience overseeing program performance or managing multiple complex projects/products at once.

A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal education

Subject Matter Expertise relating to best practices, tools, and methodologies for Program and Project/Product management. (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, PMI, Lean, Jira, Miro, Lucid, MS Project, Office 365)

Experience with mentoring a team of project/product professionals.

Proven ability to balance multiple projects/products and deadlines efficiently and within scope.

Knowledge and experience with risk and change management.

PMP or PgMP Certification

Preferred

Master’s degree in business administration or related field

Advanced Agile Certifications

Experience managing technical projects or products.

Experience with healthcare industry standards and regulations.
