
Transportation Logistics Coordinator

Description
Provide service consistent with the established Mission Statement and Core Values of Barnhart
Assist with the development of heavy haul logistics plans for the movement of oversized and overweight loads across single and multi-state corridors
Understand routing, permitting, and coordination requirements for project-based and time-sensitive heavy haul moves
Work closely with the Operations and Project teams to develop and maintain movement schedules aligned with overall project timelines
Creation and maintenance of weekly and monthly load tracking reports covering active permits, equipment assignments, and move status
Obtain and maintain working knowledge of Barnhart heavy haul equipment including lowboys, multi-axle trailers, Goldhofer/Scheuerle SPMT configurations, and associated transport tooling
Responsible for securing oversized/overweight permits across multiple states, coordinating pilot/escort requirements, and ensuring DOT compliance for all moves
Coordinate with state DOTs, district engineers, and utility companies as required for route surveys, bridge analyses, and clearance approvals
Responsible for completing daily field reports and maintaining accurate cost tracking throughout project execution
Reviewing and approving equipment and load resources within Barnhart IFS system
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent field experience considered
Progressive heavy haul or specialized transport experience preferred
Applicable permitting, routing, and oversize/overweight load coordination experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of state and federal oversize/overweight regulations across multiple jurisdictions
Ability to build trust and confidence with drivers, operations management, and customer project teams
Strategic thinking, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with permit management software a plus
Must pass drug test, fit for duty test, and background check
