Summary
The Technology Support Specialist for Technology and A/V provides technology and A/V skill training, training material development, and support of district-wide technology and audio-visual implementations for students, administrators, and staff.
Essential Functions
Provides technology and A/V skills training for staff on all district technology devices.
Installs, configures, troubleshoots, upgrades, maintains, and repairs audio/visual equipment at all district locations.
Ensures all systems are maintained and comply with current safety and building regulations.
Works with the Desktop & Device Specialist on device and/or software installations in the building.
Collaborates with the Ed Tech Learning coach to create training materials that support best practices in technology integration.
Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves hardware, software, and operating system problems and questions that occur during daily use.
Logs and follows up on all open or pending service requests for the buildings to ensure they are resolved.
Provides support for staff members in the use of technology, a/v tools, and website design and maintenance as identified by the district.
Demonstrates hardware and operating system functionality to staff.
Communicates with building administrators regarding Technology and A/V needs, evaluates requests, and develops recommendations based on best practices.
Supports media, sound, and lighting needs for events in NPSD, including community use of facilities, school use of auditoriums, multipurpose rooms, and cafeterias.
Additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Educational Technology and the Coordinator of Communications Media.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
3-5 years of Technology and A/V training and troubleshooting experience, preferably in an educational setting.
Knowledge
Basic technology, A/V, and networking concepts.
Google Suite Tools and other educational technology tools.
Requisite Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills in working with staff, students, and parents.
Effective skills in in‑person and online training.
Basic skills in productivity and cloud storage tools.
Ability to
Plan, organize, and track projects.
Work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Work under stress and with frequent interruptions.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Read and analyze written and verbal information.
