Position Overview
The Senior Finance Analyst – Co‑Pilot serves as a strategic finance business partner, providing financial insight, governance, and fact‑based decision support across commercial, supply chain, and operational functions. This role supports business planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles while ensuring strong financial controls, P&L integrity, and transparency of trade and operating results.
The role operates as a key Co‑Pilot to senior finance leadership, partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other Finance teams to drive profitable growth, optimize investments, and unlock efficiencies. Core areas of focus include P&L management, trade optimization and stewardship, forecasting, variance analysis, business case development, and ad‑hoc decision support.
The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity, demonstrates strong analytical rigor, and communicates insights clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support Period End Close (PEC) processes, ensuring P&L integrity, accuracy, and financial compliance.
Partner with cross‑functional teams to explain drivers of performance and recommend actions to improve results.
Develop and maintain customer, product, and business unit P&Ls to support decision‑making.
Trade Optimization and Stewardship
Track trade spend performance and co‑pilot Sales teams to optimize trade plans.
Analyze unauthorized deductions, broker commissions, and trade accruals; partner with Sales teams to resolve issues and enable recovery.
Provide insights on trade effectiveness, customer profitability, and return on investment.
Business Partnering
Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and decision support for commercial and trade investment decisions.
Support new product launches, renovations, and portfolio optimization.
Identify cost savings and efficiency initiatives across the network.
Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
Act as a finance lead on cross‑functional projects to assess financial impact and track delivery of savings or growth initiatives.
Process Improvement & Analytics
Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate reporting and planning processes.
Develop ad‑hoc models, dashboards, and analyses to improve financial transparency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting accuracy, trade governance, and financial reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or finance management.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or similar); SmartView, BW, or Business Objects experience preferred.
Experience in CPG, Foodservice, or FMCG environment strongly preferred.
Exposure to trade accounting, customer profitability, or sales finance a plus.
Strong understanding of P&L drivers, cost structures, and trade economics.
Advanced analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
Ability to synthesize data into insights and clearly communicate recommendations to non‑finance audiences.
Strong business acumen with an end‑to‑end mindset.
Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment.
High attention to detail with a strong focus on financial controls and first‑time quality.
Self‑starter with intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
