Configuration Specialist (ICAM – Operations & Maintenance)

Position Overview
Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) systems across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Focus on configuration management, change control, and system tuning to ensure ICAM services remain secure, consistent, and compliant with federal standards and Zero Trust principles.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain ICAM system configurations, including identity platforms, directories, and access control systems
Establish and enforce configuration baselines, standards, and version control practices
Support change management processes including documentation, approvals, and implementation
Configure and maintain authentication and authorization mechanisms (SSO, MFA, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
Support identity lifecycle configuration including roles, entitlements, and access policies (RBAC/ABAC)
Ensure consistency across environments through configuration management practices
Perform system updates, patches, and configuration tuning
Validate configurations against security and compliance requirements (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, FICAM)
Maintain configuration documentation including baselines and change logs
Support audit activities and ATO sustainment
Collaborate with engineers and administrators to support system integration and enhancements
Monitor configuration drift and implement corrective actionsTroubleshoot configuration-related issues
Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
3-6 years of experience in configuration management, system administration, IAM/ICAM, or IT operations
Experience with identity platforms (Azure AD, AWS IAM, Okta)
Familiarity with federation protocols and directory services
Experience with configuration management tools and practices (CI/CD, IaC, version control)
Understanding of RBAC/ABAC and identity lifecycle configuration
Experience supporting change management and release processes
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
Certifications such as Security+, Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps/DevOps
Experience supporting federal environments
Familiarity with Zero Trust
Experience with IGA/PAM tools and ServiceNow
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Terraform)
