Superintendent - Plumbing

As Superintendent - Plumbing, you'll oversee plumbing system installations and rough‑ins on commercial projects, leading crews to deliver code‑compliant, reliable fixtures, piping, and drainage systems that support efficient building operations. Coordinate with trades, manage site logistics, and ensure quality/safety throughout. Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise installation of plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, drains, and medical gas (if applicable) per plans and codes.

Manage crew assignments, material deliveries, and daily progress to meet schedule milestones.

Enforce safety standards, perform job hazard analyses, and lead toolbox talks.

Coordinate with other trades (HVAC, electrical) for sequencing and conflict avoidance.

Conduct inspections, testing (pressure/hydrostatic), and punch list resolution.

Troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with plumbing codes, and document work.

Mentor plumbers and apprentices on techniques, safety, and best practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise plumbing crews and subcontractors; oversee daily performance, training, and safety adherence.

Requirements/Qualifications

Experience : 7+ years in commercial plumbing installation, including 3+ years supervisory experience.

Education : High school diploma or GED; plumbing license/certification preferred.

Physical Demands : Field‑based; lift/carry 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, extended standing/bending.

Work Environment/Safety : Construction sites; exposure to wet conditions, heights, noise; OSHA/PPE compliance essential—safety is top priority.

Required Skills

Plumbing system installation, fixture rough‑in, testing/codes compliance.

Crew leadership, coordination with trades, safety enforcement.

Blueprint interpretation, problem‑solving, documentation.
