
PCB DFx Engineering Lead

Are you a highly motivated and technically competent engineer interested in leading our Printed Circuit Card Design for Manufacturability, Test, and Fabrication efforts? Primary Responsibilities
Reviews new PCB designs for manufacturability, test, reliability, and fabrication.
Reviews fabrication packages for completeness and accuracy.
Initiate communications with PCB fabrication vendors for design support and quoting.
Tracks incoming board acceptance, On‑time‑delivery (OTD) metrics, and general capabilities per vendor
Addresses vendor questions directly, or after engaging the design engineer if necessary.
Enforces company configuration management and archival rules, in regards to eCAD designs.
Establish and maintain component libraries.
Create components and review/verify components created by other team members.
Update component creation processes and approval workflows. Train PCB designers and engineers in these processes.
Work closely with our In‑house manufacturing on best component footprint creation practices for our SMT process.
Works closely with project managers and/or division production manager to track all PCB tasking, prioritize work based on schedule requirements and report on circuit card design and fabrication schedules.
Basic Qualifications
Experience in PCB Design, component creation, and component library management.
Altium, Zuken, Expedition or similar design tool experience.
Experience working with Gerbers and ODB++ files using ViewMate, Fab3000, Valor, or other similar software.
Familiarity with high‑density surface mount devices and/or bare die
Familiar with blind/buried vias and sequential lamination
Flexibility and willingness to deal with diverse requirements and complex trade‑offs, often outside of, or beyond, industry standards.
Organized and able to track multiple concurrent projects at once.
Familiarity with IPC‑A‑600 Class II and III, as well as other applicable IPC standards for PCB Design
Familiarity with version management systems (Git, SVN, PDM, etc.)
Experience working directly with advanced high complexity Fabrication and SMT assembly manufacturers
Ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross‑functional teams
Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work directly with program managers to support scheduling requirements
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
US Citizen with the ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance
Desired Skills
Familiarity with electronics assembly processes
Experience with a quality management system such as AS9100
Prior experience working with space applications
Experience with environmental and reliability testing from shock and vibration testing to thermal/vacuum testing
Experience with Failure Review Boards and Manufacturing Review Boards
Active secret security clearance

Pay Range
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
