Job Summary
Unlock the opportunity to play a vital role as our Manufacturing Engineer in our Sedalia, Missouri plant. We seek a professional with expertise in optimizing production processes, including flow, tooling, methods, and equipment. Your mission is to showcase comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing engineering, encompassing machining, assembly, and quality control processes. As a key problem solver in this project‑oriented role, your hands‑on approach keeps you actively engaged on the production floor, allowing you to collaboratively address challenges. Significant involvement in shop floor activities requires a solid understanding of machine tools and precision, coupled with proficiency in tool, fixture, and gauge design to establish robust manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Design and coordinate standard manufacturing processes while planning or enhancing production methods, including flow, tooling, assembly methods, and production equipment.
Estimate production times, optimize staffing for schedules, and evaluate capital equipment needs, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Create production processes and documentation via routings, bills of materials, and standard work, while assisting internal and external suppliers with troubleshooting process issues to identify root causes.
Oversee tool and fixture design and manufacture, ensure final process capability and stability, and evaluate non‑conforming parts to determine appropriate disposition.
Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing improvement events utilizing various tools and techniques, implement cost reduction ideas, and ensure safety is integrated into all processes while implementing corrective actions to mitigate safety risks.
Develop, test, modify, and innovate technical solutions while directing and coordinating production, operations, quality assurance, testing, and maintenance processes.
Determine root causes using 8D and 5‑Why tools while assessing manufacturing issues related to design and tolerancing.
Drive engineering principles and processes to develop robust manufacturing systems from the outset.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree preferred with concentration in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial or Mechanical engineering.
Experience with CNC machining of precision parts and with software such as 2D & 3D CAD, CAM.
Demonstrated understanding of inspection tools, techniques and their application to engineering requirements.
Experience in final assembly and testing. Strong understanding of production control and demand‑pull systems is highly desired.
Knowledge of new model launch requirements and processes to ensure flawless launch goals.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Fully site‑based.
US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident.
Less than 5% travel.
Competence in CNC machining; programming skills are not necessary but you must know how to work with precision machine parts.
Proficiency in tool, fixture, and gauge design.
CAD experience (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar).
Proven project management skills (leading, execution, creating project specifications).
Self‑starter with high initiative; able to work independently and collaboratively.
Great interpersonal skills with the energy and passion to deliver results in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment.
