Elec Sys V&V Sr. Engineer
Location: 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, IL 61523.
Designs, develops, and integrates state‑of‑the‑art telematics systems for onboard and digital teams within Caterpillar. Responsible for continuous improvement efforts to enable Caterpillar to deliver high‑quality products and services. Test cutting‑edge embedded telematics software and customer applications. Work in a team environment utilizing simulation as well as hardware‑in‑the‑loop to test all aspects of the Caterpillar Digital system, including both onboard the machine and back‑office features. Develop skills in software verification, troubleshooting, and test automation. Participate in the design and development of next‑generation telematics concepts and complex engineering projects for release to production, ensuring products provide superior performance, durability, quality, digital connectivity, and serviceability. The position requires the use of Python, NPI processes, test automation, and standard test documentation.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and integrate telematics systems.
Provide end‑to‑end integration support.
Conduct testing using simulation and hardware‑in‑the‑loop.
Devise test plans and execute tests.
Automate test procedures and analyze results.
Resolve field issues involving software and electronics.
Collaborate with global teams on release testing and issue resolution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software engineering or related occupation.
Proficient in Python, NPI processes, test automation, and standard test documentation.
Experience with Hardware‑in‑Loop (HIL) testing.
Test planning and execution expertise.
Ethernet Data Link simulation using Vector CANoe.

Salary Range: $112,710.00 - $169,060.00.
Position requires working onsite five days a week. Visa sponsorship is not available.
