UAS Test Engineer
Leidos’ Defense Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test is seeking a motivated and ambitious UAS Test Engineer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center – Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Technology and Certification Center. The position conducts comprehensive examinations to verify the functionality and performance of structures, products, systems, or processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with software developers, network engineers, and systems engineers to integrate commercial and government software applications into Operating Systems.
Work within an Agile scrum development model producing full system installation images on a biweekly basis.
Troubleshoot and address artifacts within Linux, Windows, and hypervisor environments, including dependency issues, version compatibility, and operational bugs.
Assess software application operation, deployment, and configuration written in various languages such as Bash, PowerShell, C++, Java, and Python.
Provide system integration support with external systems for both third‑party engineering teams and end‑users.
Develop technical material including but not limited to System Description Documents, Installation Guides, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Interface Control Documents.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent, with 2–4 years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree in a related field with less than 2 years of experience.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system and software issues within Linux and Windows environments.
Experience with software and hardware testing, systems integration, or system administration.
Experience with computing system architectures, hypervisors, and virtual machines.
General Internet and network troubleshooting and/or network system administration skills.
Desire to work onsite in a highly dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
Must be a resident of Huntsville, AL or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with technical documentation writing.
Experience with Atlassian Workflow management software.
Experience with test management software.
Experience developing automated test frameworks and scripts is a plus.
UNIX and Windows certifications are a plus.
Pay Range
$59,150.00 – $106,925.00 (general guideline only, actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors).
