Job Description
Position Description: St. Paul the Apostle is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented School Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our community. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our Parish and School and ensuring that our facilities reflect the care and pride of our community. Accountability The Custodian reports directly to the Director of Facilities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities -Perform routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas -Clean and restock restrooms, including paper and soap supplies -Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal in dumpsters -Maintain and care for custodial equipment and supplies -Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns, including submitting work orders as needed -Assist with room setups and breakdowns for school events and activities -Perform minor maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture) -Complete additional cleaning or project-based tasks as assigned Qualifications -Previous custodial experience preferred -Working knowledge of custodial methods, techniques, materials, and equipment -Ability to follow verbal and written instructions -Ability to work independently and manage time effectively -Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds -Comfortable with squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and performing manual tasks -Ability to climb ladders and work from heights -Familiarity with operating, maintaining, and storing custodial equipment and supplies -Dependable, trustworthy, and team-oriented -Willingness to support the mission and values of St. Paul the Apostle Benefits -Medical, Life Insurance, and Retirement Plan -Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off
