Program Analyst Subject Matter Expert (SME)
As a Program Analyst Subject Matter Expert ( SME ), you will interpret, synthesize, and present results and recommendations to senior military and civilian decision makers. You’ll provide acquisition engineering and technical advice across the full acquisition lifecycle, including pre‑acquisition, concept exploration, technology development, system development, procurement, integration, developmental and operational test and analysis, to help our clients make mission‑critical decisions. Operating under immediate supervision, you will formulate and define analysis scope and objectives, applying deep functional expertise to complex, often esoteric, task‑order requirements.

What You’ll Work On

Interpret data, synthesize findings, and brief senior military and civilian stakeholders on recommendations that impact mission outcomes.

Provide acquisition engineering and technical guidance spanning pre‑acquisition through developmental and operational testing and post‑test analysis, ensuring traceability to requirements and mission needs.

Work under immediate supervision to frame analytical questions, select appropriate methods, and establish measurable objectives for each task order.

Apply advanced subject‑matter knowledge to unique technical challenges that require creativity, rigor, and domain depth.

Design and prepare technical reports, studies, and related documents with defensible methods and clear, mission‑focused insights.

Build concise, executive‑ready briefings that translate analysis into actionable decisions.

Contribute to the execution of a military organization’s research and development policies, objectives, and initiatives.

Identify and assess new technologies that align to the client’s mission, goals, and operational constraints.

Qualifications

Experience planning and executing combined and joint operations at the theater or component level.

Knowledge of the Joint Force.

Knowledge of combat arms, all‑source intelligence analysis, logistics, civil‑military operations, and the site’s area of responsibility or functional area.

TS/SCI clearance.

Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience performing program analysis and technical advisory work in a military or defense acquisition environment, OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience performing program analysis and technical advisory work in a military or defense acquisition environment.

Nice If You Have

Experience preparing JCIDS documents through JROC governance.

Experience with DoDI 5000 series and Adaptive Acquisition Framework.

Knowledge of JCIDS, including integrating capabilities, requirements, and resourcing.

Possession of excellent communication skills for technical writing and executive briefings.

Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary for this position is projected to range from $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Compensation is determined by location, education, experience, and other factors.
