About the Team
The Manufacturing Technology Group is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in a metal and wood manufacturing environment for our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility. The Manufacturing Technology Group works together with other departments to plan, direct and coordinate activities relating to quality, tooling, and engineering to ensure efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work directly with the Director of Manufacturing Technology, and with other operational departments, to identify and implement continuous improvement projects to maintain high levels of manufacturing product quality, reduce costs, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency. You will be based in our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility. You’ll have a direct hand in accomplishing our #1 goal – a successful project in every way.
What You Will Do
Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement.
Determining problem resolutions and implementing improvements.
Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflows.
Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products.
Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems.
Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety standards and legal regulations.
Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports.
Work cross-functionally with department leaders to align processes, improve workflows, and drive operational excellence
Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
What You Will Need
Proven track record of success as a Manufacturing Engineer (metal manufacturing preferred)
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, LEAN SIX SIGMA green belt certification preferred
Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs, and related software. Solidworks and AutoCAD preferred.
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Enjoy being part of a team, but also feel comfortable working on your own and taking initiative
