
Senior Research Analyst

Position Summary
Senior Research Analyst at Arkansas State University in State University, AR. (Multiple positions available).
Duties & Responsibilities
Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from multiple institutional databases and data warehouses using SQL and other programming languages (10% of time).
Design and maintain data pipelines and automated reporting systems to ensure data accuracy and timeliness (10% of time).
Perform complex statistical analyses to support institutional planning and strategic initiatives (5% of time).
Collaborate with IT and database administrators to optimize data infrastructure and resolve data quality issues (5% of time).
Prepare and submit mandatory institutional data reports such as IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System), NSC (National Student Clearinghouse), and other Department of Education requirements (5% of time).
Prepare state‑mandated institutional data submissions and coordinate with state higher education agencies (5% of time).
Manage external survey responses for rankings and publications including U.S. News & World Report, Peterson's and other institutional profile surveys (10% of time).
Support institutional and program‑specific accreditation efforts by preparing official data submissions for HLC (Higher Learning Commission), ABET, AACSB, and other specialized accrediting bodies (10% of time).
Develop and maintain program‑level data reports and dashboards to support academic program review processes and accreditation self‑studies (10% of time).
Ensure compliance with federal and state data reporting deadlines and maintain documentation of all submission processes (5% of time).
Coordinate with registrar, financial aid, and other offices to validate data accuracy for official reporting (5% of time).
Design user‑friendly reports that translate complex data into actionable insights for various audiences (5% of time).
Maintain institutional fact books, enrollment reports, and other standard analytical products (5% of time).
Conduct ad‑hoc institutional research studies to support strategic planning initiatives and participate in benchmarking studies and peer institution comparisons (3% of time).
Analyze enrollment trends, retention patterns, graduation rates, and other key institutional performance indicators (5% of time).
Collaborate with academic departments and administrative units on assessment and evaluation projects (2% of time).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field and at least 2 years of experience in institutional research or educational data analysis at a higher education institution.
Experience with SQL and Ellucian Banner or another student information system.
