UNA: AMSTI Elementary Science Specialist
The Northwest Alabama Education Research and Inservice Center at the University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of ASMTI Elementary Science Specialist. This role provides professional development, coaching, and school‑based support for AMSTI teachers, assists with summer training and other ALSDE activities as needed, and requires daily travel within the UNA Regional Inservice area, including some overnight travel. Salary will be based on education, years of experience, and the current AMSTI salary schedule for 11‑month content specialists.
*This is a grant‑funded position. Initial and continued employment in this position is contingent upon funding by the sponsoring agency. Sponsorship is not available for this position.*
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Five years of teaching experience in grades K‑5 science in an Alabama public school required
AMSTI training required; AMSTI trainer certification preferred
Experience presenting professional development to adults preferred
Valid Alabama teaching certificate in Elementary or Early Childhood Education required
CLEAR status with FBI and ABI fingerprinting processes required
Current, valid driver’s license required
