Plant Manager | Packaging Operations, Leadership & Production Excellence
Location: Bolingbrook, IL. Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 24/6 Production Environment (as needed). Salary: $150,000-$195,000/year.

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Plant Manager for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Bolingbrook, IL. This role oversees all plant operations in a fast-paced paper converting and packaging manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are consistently met while driving profitability and operational excellence. This is a senior leadership role responsible for aligning shop floor execution with business strategy.

Qualifications & Skills
Minimum:

5-10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations

strong background in paper converting, folding cartons, or packaging manufacturing

Experience managing plant operations, teams, and production performance

Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Amtech, Encore, etc.)

strong understanding of quality systems, compliance, and regulatory standards

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma

strong financial acumen (budgeting, cost control, CAPEX planning)

Hands-on leadership style with ability to drive accountability

Work Environment

High-volume manufacturing facility (24/6 operations)

Fast-paced, production-driven environment

Combination of office leadership and floor presence ("walk-the-floor" style)

Exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial operations

Compensation & Benefits

Responsibilities

Lead all day-to-day plant operations including

sheeting, printing, die-cutting, and folding/gluing

Drive production efficiency, uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

Oversee

preventative and predictive maintenance programs

to minimize downtime

Manage plant budgets, labor, materials, and overall P&L performance

Ensure compliance with

OSHA, EPA, FDA, and food safety regulations

Lead quality initiatives including

GMP, HACCP, CAPA, and QMS systems

Support audit readiness for

SQF, BRCGS, and customer audits

Implement continuous improvement strategies (Lean, Six Sigma, waste reduction)

Maintain full traceability of materials and production processes

Recruit, train, and develop plant personnel and leadership teams

Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, and corporate leadership

Maintain a strong safety culture with focus on zero incidents
