Job Summary
Senior Scientist to lead an automated light‑directed DNA synthesis platform for biomedical research and drug discovery at the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and operation of an automated light‑directed DNA synthesis platform.
Oversee and support oligonucleotide synthesis for various research applications.
Develop and implement high‑throughput screening and printing microarray protocols using legacy instruments such as Quanterix Microarrayers and light‑directed synthesizers.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to translate platform capabilities into biomedical research outcomes.
Qualifications
Background in chemical, biomedical, or electrical engineering.
Experience in optics/photolithography and microfluidics.
Knowledge of microarray technology, microfabrication, optics/microscopy, ink‑jet technology, surface/materials science.
Minimum Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific area is required.
Minimum Experience
Ten (10) years relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
Eight (8) years relevant work experience with a Master’s degree.
Five (5) years relevant work experience with a PhD.

The estimated salary range for the Senior Scientist position is $104,000 – $186,160 per year.
