Trillium Staffing is now hiring an Engineering Manager for a direct hire position in Eaton Rapids MI!
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop an engineering team while supporting key areas of the business including production, maintenance, tooling, and new product development. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement. Salary range is $100,000-$125,000.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Develop the Team
Provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to engineering staff
Delegate projects and ensure work is completed efficiently and on time
Support career development and succession planning
Drive Safety & Operational Excellence
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture
Ensure equipment and processes meet safety standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment
Support Quality & Continuous Improvement
Lead advanced quality planning (APQP), including FMEAs, control plans, and process documentation
Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Monitor key performance metrics like uptime, scrap, and OEE to identify improvement opportunities
Project & Process Management
Oversee new product launches and engineering changes
Prioritize work based on production needs and customer demands
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with production, maintenance, leadership, and external vendors
Communicate goals, performance metrics, and project updates clearly
Support customer communication and technical discussions
Innovation & Strategy
Lead initiatives around new technologies, materials, and processes
Support product development and continuous improvement efforts
Evaluate and work with suppliers to strengthen capabilities
Financial Oversight
Manage budgets for capital and operational expenses
Develop business cases and proposals for new projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or higher) from an accredited institution
5+ years of leadership/management experience
5–10 years of experience in die casting and tooling within automotive manufacturing (or similar industries such as injection molding or stamping)
Proven experience in innovation, new product launches, and project management
Strong background in budgeting, capital project planning, and financial oversight
Strong leadership experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
Background in quality systems, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics
Proven project and program management skills
Excellent communication and team‑building abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards
Ability to travel as needed
