Overview
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT.

Licenses and Certifications
BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Must become registered by the ARDMS within (6) months of employment.
Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within (6) months of employment.
(BR) ARDMS or ARRT - Breast Sonography - Breast Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS) Required
RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist Preferred
RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer Preferred
