
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Cardiac Step-Down Unit - Atlantic Health

Job Overview
Atlantic Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) for the Cardiac Step-Down Unit (12‑bed) at the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, Morristown Medical Center.
The APP will work collaboratively with physicians, fellow APPs, and the multidisciplinary care team to assess, manage, and coordinate care for acutely ill cardiac patients.
Working hours: full‑time, 12‑hour night shifts only, no call, one weekend per month required.
Responsibilities
Direct involvement in medical consultation, patient assessments, procedures, and care planning.
Specialize in management of complex cardiac conditions, recommend diagnostic testing, and initiate treatment strategies in collaboration with the attending team.
Perform procedures including central and arterial line placement; point‑of‑care ultrasound experience preferred.
Qualifications
Master’s degree as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
NP or PA certification and NJ license required.
DEA and CDS required.
ACLS and BLS required.
Minimum of 2–3 years of critical care or cardiology experience.
Excellent communication and computer skills.
Strong work ethic, team player, capable of working independently.
