The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Control Systems Project Engineer II
to lead and support a variety of control systems projects from design through commissioning. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can independently execute complex technical work while leading project tasks and supporting overall project delivery.
You will work closely with internal teams and customers, taking ownership of assigned projects and ensuring successful execution aligned with schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop complex control systems, including PLC and HMI applications
Interpret and apply P&IDs, electrical drawings, and system specifications
Develop instrumentation specifications and support value engineering efforts
Design and support network infrastructure and IT systems related to control system integration
Ensure adherence to company Quality Management System (QMS) standards
Lead project-related tasks and small to mid-sized projects from start to finish
Manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work
Identify risks, scope changes, and project challenges and communicate proactively
Serve as a primary customer contact for assigned projects
Support and contribute to larger projects led by others
Commissioning & Technical Support
Lead and support system startup and commissioning activities
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in the field
Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of system performance
Communicate effectively with customers to support project success
Understand customer needs and proactively deliver solutions
Maintain a professional, responsive, and service-oriented approach
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years of experience in control systems engineering or industrial automation
Proven experience leading project tasks and supporting project delivery
Strong expertise in PLC, HMI, and control system design
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Experience with networking and IT systems as they relate to control systems
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
