Job Overview
The Specialist Sr., Technical Corrosion provides high-level technical support and direction to corrosion technicians and field operations personnel. This position reports to the Manager of Corrosion Services and will internally interface with all levels of Operation personnel. This position is expected to provide guidance and deliver training to less experienced Company personnel. Additionally, this Specialist must maintain satisfactory professional relationships outside the Company, which are relative to the fulfillment of this position’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Maintain satisfactory professional relationships outside the Company, which are relative to the fulfillment of this position’s responsibilities
Provide a broad spectrum of technical support to field operating technicians in the discipline of corrosion mitigation
Provide technical input into and assisting in the development of strategic plans (SOP) for the implementation of new equipment, systems and processes
Coordinate and maintain the capital budget related to corrosion control
Provide leadership in the Integrity Management Process as it relates to direct and indirect assessment of pipeline facilities
Coordinate close interval, hot spot and similar surveys and interpreting survey data
Develop new operating, maintenance, inspection and testing criteria and review changes to policies and procedures for consistency with industry standards
Provide internal audit function by evaluating operating records, test and inspection data and other documents required to verify the adequacy of operating procedures and compliance to federal, state and agency regulations
Provide on-site support of DOT audits
Assist in the design and specification of systems required for the cathodic protection of pipeline facilities
Assist with project completions through on-site inspection, testing and commissioning of new facilities
Maintain awareness of the most current technology and equipment advances through research, training and participation in industry associations
Develop course content and present training to enhance the skills and technical competence of field personnel
Participate in studies and team projects to enhance overall safety, reliability and efficiency of the gas transmission system
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
5+ years of technical corrosion work experience
NACE “Corrosion Technologist” certification or a higher-level NACE certification
Working knowledge of internal and external corrosion mitigation systems
Working knowledge of ground and below ground coating requirements
Working knowledge of the Pipeline Compliance System corrosion software
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or related software
Willingness to lead a team of others
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
License and Insurability
A valid driver’s license and insurability under company policy are required.
