About the Role
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on ensuring that suppliers' manufacturing processes are optimized for the production of high-quality, cost-effective products. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to drive product and process improvements, manage supply chain issues, and ensure successful integration of new products into mass production.
What You'll Do
Ramp supplier lines from early prototyping through full-scale production, ensuring readiness across equipment, staffing, and processes.
Work directly with suppliers to assess, design, and optimize manufacturing processes to meet production requirements and quality standards. Ensure suppliers are capable of scaling production without compromising quality.
Lead the supplier qualification process, including auditing manufacturing facilities, production processes, and quality standards. Define and execute all aspects of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with suppliers to ensure successful new product launches.
Manage supplier quality issues from identification and root cause analysis through corrective/preventative action implementation and verification.
Manage engineering changes related to suppliers, including changes to materials, components, and manufacturing processes. Ensure all changes are integrated into the supply chain and meet quality standards.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Relevant experience across supplier industrialization, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering, especially in consumer electronics, automotive, or industrial settings.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, CNC machining, PCB/PCBA, stamping, and assembly techniques.
Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and an understanding of industry standards for product quality and compliance.
Project Management - the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Communication and Documentation - the ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive improvements and resolve issues.
Willingness to travel frequently - the most effective supplier relationships are built face-to-face.
