Information Security & Technology Risk Intern
General Summary
As a member of the Technology Risk and Information Security Management(TRISM) team, you will assist in security monitoring and oversight activities that provide assurance of the FHLB control environment. This role offers hands‑on experience with enterprise risk management, NIST CybersecurityFramework implementation, and cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Support the TRISM team by entering and validating NIST Cybersecurity Framework controls within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) system.
Assist in developing cybersecurity awareness materials, including internal communications and draft phishing simulations.
Contribute to organizing team workflows.
Provide general support on cybersecurity governance and risk management activities as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Attention to detail with the ability to accurately review and validate control documentation.
Basic understanding of information security concepts (access control, security awareness, cybersecurity hygiene).
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including clear, concise writing for non-technical audiences and attention to grammar and clarity.
Ability to learn and use new tools, including GRC platforms and Microsoft Copilot.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
Strong analytical skills to tackle new information with a proactive, learning-oriented outlook.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact effectively with FHLBank personnel.
Demonstrates interests in working with a varietybackgrounds and perspectives that align with the Bank’s core value. Promotes anenvironment of empathy and respect to ensure the inclusion of all team members.
Working Conditions
