Senior Quality Engineer – Huntsville, Alabama
Leidos Dynamics seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to support mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing. The role involves program quality planning, analyzing QA requirements, developing inspection/test procedures, creating source inspection checklists, coordinating nonconformance documentation, and supporting root cause/corrective action. Other key duties include reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation, collaborating with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies, collecting and reporting quality metrics, reviewing and approving new drawings, supporting project managers during design and manufacturing readiness reviews (PDR, CDR, APQP, PPAP), performing DFMEA, PFMEA, and conducting supplier surveillance audits.

Basic Qualifications

4‑year degree and 8‑12 years of experience in ISO9001/AS9100 or equivalent quality control in DOD, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing.

Proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5‑2009.

Experience with non‑conforming material, failure analysis, root‑cause identification, and corrective action implementation.

Experience writing work instructions, procedures, and QMS documentation for AS9100.

Ability to review and interpret contract quality clauses, develop and document verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.

Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Effective communication skills within a team.

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of mechanical engineering.

Working knowledge of CNC machining and inspection.

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer.

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

Experience developing PFMEA and RCCA.

Pay Range
$92,300.00 - $166,850.00
