Senior Buyer – Surface Materials
SOUTHFIELD, MI WORLD HEADQUARTERS
Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Ensures cost effective procurement and delivery of material and service to support plant and customer requirements.
The Role
Direct commodity buying responsibility
Work experience and judgment required to plan and accomplish strategic goals
Negotiates long term agreements and yearly savings in line with expectations
Develops commodity strategies to achieve results
Understanding of commercial terms and total cost management concepts required

Your Qualifications
Requires minimum of 5 years commodity purchasing experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related business field or equivalent experience
Data driven analysis and negotiating techniques
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
High level of integrity
Priority setting and time management
Action oriented & produces results
Strong written communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing environment
Superior conflict resolution skills while maintaining strong relationships and rapport
Independent workload prioritization, focusing efforts on the most critical and impactful activities
Bonus If You Have
MBA
Automotive cross-functional experience is recommended
Experience with Polyurethane Foam commodity
Previous SAP ERP experience
