Google's software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products must handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search. We seek engineers who bring fresh ideas from areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile.
In the iOS Google Search App Platform Team you will support core app‑level infrastructure used by engineers and partners to build Search features. You will have latitude to propose changes, own pieces of the app infrastructure, and drive adoption of new tooling, APIs, and systems, with a focus on improving User Trust through features such as Incognito and Autofill.
Compensation

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $147,000–$211,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2+ years of experience programming in C++.
2+ years of experience with iOS application development.
2+ years of experience programming in Objective‑C or Swift.
Preferred qualifications

2+ years of experience with data structures and algorithms in an academic or industry setting.
2+ years of experience with performance, system data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
Experience with iOS concurrency systems (e.g., Swift Concurrency, Actors, Publishers, GCD, NSOperations) and managing multi‑threaded code, debugging performance‑related issues with tools such as Instruments and integrating tracing support.
Proficiency in code and system health diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
Responsibilities

Work closely with Product and UX to ensure features are of the highest craft.
Implement changes that elevate the polish, performance, and delight of the Google App on iOS.
Collaborate with leads and cross‑functional partners to plan how best to bring changes to production, ensuring continued improvement of user sentiment and engagement.
Build expertise in a particular area of the Google App on iOS and ensure all user journeys in that space are well‑crafted; build iOS experiences within iGA.
