Status: Full Time / 80 hours per pay period
Shift Hours: 12 Hour Shifts to Include Day or Night Shift, Also Weekends & Holidays
Facility: ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER
This position is responsible for the safety and security of patients, visitors, employees and hospital property. Patrols hospital campus and buildings to deter thefts, vandalism and disturbances. Responds to security needs of Atrium Medical Center personnel and emergencies. Provides law enforcement support to Atrium Medical Center campus. Acts as Middletown Special Police Officer, sworn to support the United States, the State of Ohio and the laws and ordinances of the City of Middletown.
Education
High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum 200 hours of Police training at an Ohio Peace Training Council accredited academy.
Experience
Six months’ previous security or law enforcement experience is preferred.
Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
OPOTA – Required Basic Security Guard Training, including the state required 20 hours of firearms training.
Knowledge / Skills
This position requires an individual able to work under pressure with many interruptions while remaining calm and pleasant to the public and facility personnel. Good written and oral communications and organizational skills. Some typing and computer experience required. Effective telephone skills.
