The Supply Chain function supports business needs and continuous improvement efforts through appropriate supplier, scheduling, inventory management and logistic principle development of employees and management.
The Manufacturing function supports business needs and continuous improvement efforts through appropriate production engineering and processing principle development of employees and management.
Job Description and Duties
Responsible for timely demand generation of material requirements to support customer order fulfillment for one of three value chains (spare parts, service, units). Clearly defines and communicates the customer’s expectations and scope of work with regard to material, delivery, quality, special requirements, communications, witness / hold points, packaging, testing, and shipment instructions through the job creation process.
Responsible for follow up with Engineering, Application Engineering, and Operations to ensure production orders, BOM’s, drawings, contract specific requirements, and test requirements are correct.
Interact with manufacturing to obtain feedback about production problems. Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule execution.
Provide effective planning support for Operations in demand creation, by advanced acknowledgement of cycle times of resources, shop capacity, and status of existing master schedule.
Participate in the efforts of cross-functional groups and across shifts to resolve bottlenecks, part shortages, machine maintenance, manpower issues, and shop capacity.
Coordinates the timely release of job travelers to material planners.
Responsible for maintaining updated part method masters, pre- and post-production completion. Production Planner updates part methods in the ERP system with respect to tooling, technique, sequence of steps, etc.
Acts as liaison with other Hayward Tyler departments as necessary to resolve technical questions or issues obstructing the execution of the contract. Active participant in position’s corresponding value chain meetings.
Other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University and 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read & interpret contract documentation, engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
Strong interpersonal, communication, computer and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project and the Internet
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented and highly motivated
High degree of personal initiative
Direct machine shop experience preferred.
The Process Planner is expected to perform all assigned duties with a minimum of direct supervision after initial training period and is expected to seek assistance when required.
$80,000 - $85,000 a year
