SECTION I: GENERAL INFORMATION

$31.00 to $37.00 per hour
General Summary of Purpose of Job:
The Licensed School Health Associate (RN or LPN) supports school health services under the direction of a Licensed School Nurse (LSN), providing first aid, administering medications, maintaining health records, and assisting with screenings and student health needs. The role includes managing health office operations and communicating with students, families, and staff. All nursing tasks are performed only as delegated by the LSN, and the position does not replace the Licensed School Nurse.
SECTION II: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver immediate care to ill or injured students/staff, complete incident reports, and notify parents/guardians per protocol.
Coordinate with the Licensed School Nurse (LSN), safely dispense medications, and maintain precise administration records.
Collect immunization data, track compliance, and report non-compliant students to the LSN.
Perform and coordinate screenings (vision, hearing), document results, and manage follow-ups and referrals.
Carry out delegated nursing procedures and assist with accommodations to support student participation in school.
Share relevant health updates with staff, students, families, and administration; elevate serious concerns appropriately.
Collaborate regularly with the LSN and participate in meetings related to student health and IEP planning.
Maintain a clean, organized office; order supplies; and ensure readiness for daily health services.
Complete required reports (e.g., accident reports, third-party billing, state screening reports) accurately and on time.
Identify hazards, support health education initiatives, and serve as a resource to staff on health-related matters.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED; Current MN RN or LPN license.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Valid driver's license.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE WORK:
Knowledge:
First aid and CPR certification requirements.
Confidentiality standards and handling of proprietary information.
School procedures, protocols, and professional expectations.
