Position Overview
The Traffic Control Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all traffic control operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.
This role oversees field operations, planning, team performance, and financial outcomes, while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards. The Traffic Control Manager plays a key role in supporting project success, client satisfaction, and operational profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee daily traffic control operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution
Coordinate scheduling, deployment, and retrieval of traffic control equipment
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed
Ensure alignment between field operations and project requirements
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, supervise, and support supervisors, designers, and traffic control technicians
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate priorities, updates, and expectations
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
Support hiring, training, and development of team members
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal traffic control regulations
Conduct safety audits and oversee training programs
Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and operational consistency
Promote a proactive safety culture across all operations
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong client relationships and support project coordination
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables
Address client needs and support high levels of customer satisfaction
Financial & Performance Management
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
Monitor project costs, pricing, and profitability
Manage rate structures to remain competitive while maintaining margins
Track performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure quality standards for traffic control plans, equipment, and execution
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and service delivery
Reduce operational inefficiencies and enhance team productivity

Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic control management or a related field
Strong knowledge of traffic control regulations and industry standards
Proven leadership and team management experience
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
Valid driver’s license
Preferred
ATSSA or equivalent traffic control certification
Experience working with DOT, municipal, or public infrastructure projects
Experience with construction or project management systems
